The Samsung Galaxy Note II is going great guns, but Sammy hasn't forgotten about the 5.3-inch original. Jelly Bean and new features are incoming soon
Samsung has confirmed that the original Galaxy Note smartphone/tablet will be getting a refit thanks to Android Jelly Bean and a new Premium Suite update.
The Android 4.1 update will bring access to popular features like the Google Now personal assistant and the silent smartphone efficiency service Project Butter.
The company announced the software bumps on the Galaxy Note's product page this week, which will be arriving on unlocked handsets first. However, the company has not yet set a date.
Alongside some juicy Jelly Bean action is a new Premium Suite update, which brings many of the popular features included on the Galaxy Note 2 successor.
Among them is the Multi Window feature, which allows users to work on two apps on the same screen at the same time, without transitioning. For example, typing an email and watching a YouTube clip simultaneously.
Users will also be able use handwriting functionality within the email app and summon pop-up notes, videos and a web browser with double tap gestures.
